In my backyard we have a covered porch. We loved this long corridor and thought it was perfect for a dining table and chairs. Only problem was, every table was too small. My daughter’s teacher always says, “That’s the problem, now what’s the solution?” I love that mindset. Instead of ordering something custom to fit, we simply lined two tables next to one another. It truly works wonderfully. Bonus: I actually enjoy being able to move them around as needed too.

I don’t know if you love this idea, but let me tell you a secret. I have topiaries by my front door that are FAKE. I kill a lot of plants (I know, I know), so it actually saves me a lot of hassle. My front porch is 100% shade and nothing was staying alive partially for that reason too. The pots are filled with dirt, btw.
LOOK AT MY PORCH
Before we painted the house white, it was pretty drab…don’t you think?
We chose Alabaster White for the brick color. We chose a dark black shingle for contrast and copper gutters that will patina over time.
Thanks to our friends at Urbanology Designs that helped with the vision.
The outdoor patio has a charcoal ceiling and I repeated that on my back door as well. A little paint makes a big difference!
